Myrtle Beach

This year for my banquet in Myrtle Beach I invited Lisa and her kids and Julie, Ryan and their kids. Jon was in Florida with him mom, dad, james, gabby and stephen at the BYU v. Florida State football game. And Chris was off on guard duty. We had a great trip. Here are some of the pictures.
Kids playing in the sand

We celibrated Hannahs birthday there with doughnuts for breakfast and then a gift to open from the Allen family. It was a pillow pet and she loved it but Carter (you can see in the background) was upset because he wanted one. Life is so tough sometimes.

Geodes

My mom sent Carter some Geodes a couple of weeks ago. He loved smashing them open to find the "diamonds" inside. If they only really were.

Saturday outing

We took our bikes and trailer to the riverwalk path here in Columbia for a little exercise and a picnic by the river. It was fun except we all fell in the water or on the rock except Hannah. Jon and Carter just got wet but I scraped my knee pretty bad. It is still sore and sensitive two weeks later. It was good exercise though and we all felt like Hannah at the end but we had to peddle our bikes back and not just ride in the trailer.

Carters first day of school

Carter has really enjoyed school so far this year. His first day with without tears all around. We woke up 20 minutes before we were supposed to be out the door and some how we managed to not be late. He is learning every day and he is even learning his popcorn words and is starting to help us read our books. Our little boy is growing up.

Hannah at her finest

Hannah does not like to share like a lot of kids. Well this day she was playing with her shopping cart and Carter was playing with the Barbie computer or the other way around. Well she decided that she wanted to play with both or more so that Carter was not allowed to play with either of them so this was the solution she came up with. It worked.

Pinewood derby

Here is "Carter's" pinewood derby car/truck. It is an Elders Qourum activity that is opened to the whole ward and the only rules is no open flames allowed. It was a fun activity and Carter had fun racing his car. He won a trophy for best design. He was happy he got a trophy and didn't care about winning. That's good I guess.

Busy I guess

I don't know what we have been doing lately but it hasn't been taking pictures. I do have a couple to share.

Hannah on the left found a good mud spot to give herself a facial. And below was one of the mornings that she wasn't quite ready to wake up so she got her blanket and pacifier to snuggle with at the top of the stairs for a little while. She was laying on them until I got the camera out.

Carter got a summer cut and I had not shown it off yet. He wanted to give a cheesy smile I told him he looked goofy so he gave his sad face and when I told him he could make whatever face he wanted he smiled goofy again but you can see his hair better in the sad face picture.

This was the first of the harvest from our garden this year. They had started to grow in out pantry so we cut them up and planted them and here is our bounty. Carter took them into the bathroom to wash them all. He didn't eat any of them. I could not convince them they were good.

Then it is a bit hard to see but this is Jon playing the piano and Hannah sitting with him. She loves to play along.
