Myrtle beach trip

This weekend we went to Myrtle Beach for my company banquet. It was a quick trip as we had to get back for church since Jon doesn't have any councilors yet. We arrived Friday night and stopped on the way into town at Broadway at the beach and ate a wonderful meal. Carter and I headed to the water while Hannah got settled. He didn't want to get into the water but he already started collecting shells. Saturday morning we were up early and out on the beach. Hannah loved it more than we would have imagined. She crawled and crawled all over. She would stop and try to eat some sand or a shell and then keep crawling. There was a small area on the beach that gets filled up when the tide is in and stayed somewhat full while the tide is out. That was her spot. We brought Jon's niece Kayla with us as a helper and in room babysitter during the banquet and she was a great helper.

After some time on the beach we headed to one of the pools and then onto the water park that is in the group of hotels. The kids played and played. Jon finally headed back to the room with Hannah and before he even walked a portion of the way back to the hotel room she was out. Carter on the other hand would not have ever left if we didn't make him. We got back late last night or this morning depending how you look at it. Over all it was quick but a fun way to end another summer.

First day of school

Carter's school started September 8th. We had gone the week before to meet his teachers and that went well so I had little concern for him being okay and left me to be concerned with me being okay with my baby boy growing up. He was very excited but agreed to stop for a picture at the sign.

Then we found the classroom with the yellow bear.

And then he sat down to color his first masterpiece.

His class has 16 children in it and 11 of them are girls. The teachers decided to expand the art center because of all of the girls they had this year. He has had a great day every day so far but he has yet to tell us anything of what he does at school other than play in the playground. I am glad that he likes it and looks forward to it every day.
Bad mother confession-I had put Hannah in her stroller so I would have free hands to take pictures. We had gotten into his classroom and I was busy helping Carter get to a seat and start coloring when I heard a baby crying and I thought "Someone should help their baby". Well it was mine and I quickly realized the teacher was telling Hannah that I would be right back. She was 12 feet from me but for Hannah that might was well be miles. Maybe I will forget that by the time she is old enough to share it with her.

Trip to the farm and county fair

We all went to NY recently to see Grandma and Grandpa, the tractors and the fair. It was fun but too short as usual. We watched tractor pulls and Carter enjoyed them more than I thought he would. He also enjoyed the rides and of course some cousin bonding time.

Hannah did more than sleep but it is the only picture I took of her on the trip.
