Flashback
For those of you who don't know about this outfit, this is the outfit that my Dad bought for me to come home from the hospital in. My Dad had forgotten everything once I was born. He was so shocked that it was a girl that he couldn't even remember his own mothers phone number to call and tell her the good news. Well he went out and bought me an outfit. My Mom tells me that it was a first for him to do that for one of his children. So his first girl after four sons and he got me a football outfit to come home in. Well I got a picture of Hannah wearing the same outfit.

Pumpkin carving
While Grandma and Grandpa were here, we carved some pumpkins. Carter liked the idea until he saw inside the first one. We still had fun. In NY we had to worry about them freezing after they were carved but in SC you have to carve them late because they start to grow things inside. I will spare you all those pictures.
Halloween
Here is our little ladybug. One of the young women is holding her. Something tells me she is not going to have very good memories from her first Halloween.
Here is the rest of the family. Carter was not thrilled about being a boxer. He only agreed to it to get candy. I guess the date was wrong on the camera because it really was Halloween that all happened.
Cool hat
The other day we were leaving for work and when we opened the door Carter realized it was cold. He wanted to wear a hat and so he grabbed Jon's fishing style hat and put it on. Jon told him that he looked cool in that hat and Carter agreed. When he got in the car he told Jon that Jon could wear it. Jon asked if he was sure and Carter said that he was so Jon took the hat. They said their good byes and we took off for Lisa's house. Carter was making sad noises from the backseat and I asked him what was wrong. He proceeded to tell me that he had been cool with the hat on but now he was sad because Jon had taken the hat from him and now he wasn't cool any more. When i told Jon the story later, he felt so bad but I told him that I had reassured Carter that he was still cool even though he did not have the hat on any more.

Baby Shower
One of my dear friends from church had a baby shower for me and Hannah yesterday at her home. We (Hannah) got a lot of great things. We are grateful for her thoughtfulness! Thanks Denise.
Carter's friend Alex was there and he loved Hannah. I think he gave her more attention than Carter ever has. I guess Alex doesn't have to share his mom with Hannah.
I love the pink!

More Hannah
I have had a request for more Hannah pictures. I realize that newborns don't "do" much so here is what she does do well.
We are glad that she does sleep well. She seems to have three awake times. They are 7:30 AM, 4 PM and unfortunately 11:30 PM. We are hoping to make the last one a bit earlier but at only three weeks old, we can't complain. It was wonderful having my mother-in-law here for 4 days. I had not gotten that much sleep in a million years...or at least two weeks. I am a wimp about not getting enough sleep.

Second hairy child
Some of you know about Charlie and some have not seen him in a while. Charlie joined our family in March. He came from the same people we adopted Hannah from. He is a mix of Jack Russell and Chihuahua.
New addition (to the house)
Before Hannah joined us, Jon started putting a porch onto the back of our house. We had talked about it since we moved in and he felt this summer was the time to get it done. He still needs to put on railings and some trim work and painting but he is mostly done. We have to acknowledge the help of my brother Derek and his brother Stephen. We also had a bit of help from Jon's sister Janet. Thanks!!!
Stay at home mom
First my apologies to all my stay at home mom friends. I was really excited to know that I would be home for two weeks with Hannah and Carter. I started working on my list of things that needed to be done around the house and I just knew that it would be a great time to accomplish that list. Well as you stay at home moms could guess, I think out of 15 things on my list I have accomplished two of them in the first six days I have been home. Oh well, I am also learning that the real joy in staying home is spending it with my children. The list will continue to wait.

Trying this blogging thing out
I told Jon a while ago that I thought it was time for us to join the fad and start a blog. He told me that we don't have time for it. While I agree, I see many people who have just as little time on their hands who successfully maintain a blog. So, if they can do it, we can do it. Only time will tell.
